Hash Ribbon
Definition
Hash Ribbon is a technical indicator used to observe periodic changes in Bitcoin mining activities and predict potential changes in Bitcoin price.
Hash Ribbon is a technical indicator related to Bitcoin mining and is used to observe periodic changes in mining activities. Hash Ribbon tracks the intersection of short-term (e.g. 30-day) and long-term (e.g. 60-day) moving averages of the Bitcoin network s hash rate. This indicator is used to identify periods when miners activity increases or decreases. A short-term moving average reflects short-term changes in the market, while a long-term moving average shows a more general trend. Hash Ribbon intersections can signal potential changes in Bitcoin price. For example, if the short-term moving average crosses above the long-term moving average, this may indicate that Bitcoin mining is increasing and the price may begin an upward trend. Conversely, if the short-term average falls below the long-term average, this may indicate that Bitcoin mining is decreasing and the price may begin a downward trend.
